

On the Trackpad settings screen, click on Point and Click tab (in case you already aren’t there) and then enable Tap to click on your Mac by clicking on the little box next to Tap to click (See image below). Click on the Apple Icon from the top menu bar of your Mac and then click on System Preferences… in the dropdown menu.Ģ. Once you get used to this feature, you may find it actually better than clicking on the trackpad. I hope this helps someone before they end up turning off the touchpad entirely and using an actual mouse instead.You can try this feature on your Mac and see if it works for you. All the others I left on and I now love the two finger scrolling option that I always used to turn off on my previous laptop.

I also toggled off “Use two finger pinch to zoom” since I accidentally zoomed when two fingers touched the pad.

You just have to know how to look for it. The solution though isn’t really that hard to find.

Acer laptops don’t seem to use the Synaptics driver or maybe they do but the settings aren’t anywhere to be found under Hardware settings in control panel. I knew where to look in control panel but somehow this computer didn’t have what I was looking for. I found discussions on tech and support forums but couldn’t seem to find the answer.
